Both June and Ah-Mah as a Te Xuan Ze are Blessed with Suck. But it probably painted that the show was going to be CG animated rather than 2D. Visual Effects of Awesome: The commercial for the lead up to the show was actually pretty well animated.Might have been threads that CN tried to pick up but never really continued or built upon.
In the crossover MMORPG FusionFall, there's a giant statue of Juniper in Forgotten Falls complete with waterfalls and a glowing T-shirt logo, and a "Te Xuan Ze Inc." in Endsville, which are never given any in-game explanation.which begs the question of whether or not all of the statues had a similar function. Were they just there to revere the old protectors? In "Out of the Past," Kai Yee is removed from a statue and then re-encased into a new one at the end of the episode. Jasmine's house is riddled with old statues of former Te Xuan Ze's.It's likely they were gonna bring him back but never got the chance. However, he only appeared in one episode, and the show was cancelled before he got a chance to return. They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Kai Yee was a rather competent, charismatic and interesting villain, being a former Te Xuan Ze turned rogue for a credible reason, a potential Evil Counterpart to June and giving some development to the series' universe. Also worth noting is the amount of people who took the comparison on an entirely different direction. Not helping matters is the fact that both shows came out in the same year just a few months apart. A few of this show's detractors will point out that this show's plot is almost the same as American Dragon: Jake Long note Again a lot of this was just coincidence, not deliberate. This made it hard for it to stand out from the pack despite some well written stories. So Okay, It's Average: The show's concept has been done in quite a few other shows, such as its noted influences Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Jackie Chan Adventures, Danny Phantom, and most notably, American Dragon: Jake Long.Jody, Ashley, and even Ray Ray could also count. Moe: June qualifies for this quite easily given her combined status as a Badass Adorable and a Cute Bruiser.
#Juniper lee is hot series
CN did pull a strong campaign at first when premiering the show (check out its first commercial ), but neglected to advertise for the series in its later seasons. Probably didn't help that Jake Long was backed by Disney who had a bit more widespread influence than CN. It was just bad timing in airing that didn't allow Juniper Lee to be more well known. In truth, Judd Winick had the idea for a while before getting the greenlight by CN to make it at around the same time American Dragon was in production and set to premiere.
